Job description

Main Purpose: To work as part of a team directly with children and young people assisting in the provision of a range of positive activities that will challenge, stimulate and provide new leaning opportunities.

Position: The Assistant Youth Worker will be responsible to the Development Manager

Main Duties include: To work as part of a team of youth work within a project, working directly with young people as directed by the line manager.

To make and sustain relationships with young people individually and in groups.

To work evening and weekends including residential as negotiated and agreed.

To ensure maximum access for all children and young people to youth work provision.

To understand the importance of the youth service programme and have the ability to develop, deliver and assess work with young people.

To deliver innovative approaches to youth work that enables and encourages young people's participation at all levels.

Person specification

No experience necessary as all training will be provided

Additional information

Able to demonstrate a flexible approach to work. Good team worker, good interpersonal and communication skills. Able to work split shift.
