- Overview
SCVO will host a parliamentary reception to celebrate the work of Scotland’s voluntary sector.
- Description
SCVO will host a parliamentary reception, hosted by Paul O’Kane MSP, to celebrate the work of Scotland’s voluntary sector.
The event will showcase SCVO’s #EssentialSector campaign, where voluntary organisations from across Scotland were supported to make short films about their work. The films feature real people, telling their stories in their own words and paint an inspiring and raw picture of the value and impact of our sector.
The films show some of the challenges the sector faces, as well as its many achievements, and we will hear more on the night from two of the organisations involved in the project about the difficulties they are currently experiencing, and what impact that is having on their work. The contributing organisations are:
- Afro-Scot Relief Project
- Just Right Scotland
SCVO will share findings from the Scottish Third Sector Tracker, which show the scale of these issues across Scotland. We hope that this will help us to influence MSPs and other decision makers to make changes that will make the voluntary sector more sustainable.
